Review Summary:
This 27 holes course made up by 3 nines holes Mountain, Lake and Valley course. The setup are more likely to be a resort course with reasonably forgiving fairways and recoverable rough. The maintenance is excellent. Scenery is also great with mature, dense big trees, you won't find lamp post nor villas within your sight.

Introduction
This famous course has gained a well reputation and just rated No 7 Best Courses in Asia by Asian Golf Monthly.
From Bangkok Airport, we took approximately 2 hours 45 mins and arrived one of her two sister resort – Springfield Beach Resort. From there, we took another 15 mins ride to the Golf Club. Another Resort – Springfield Village Resort is just located next to the golf course.
Club Facilities & Service
The clubhouse is pretty big. Reception and Proshop are on the ground floor. Down the stairs there you’ll see the Restaurant(1, 2), Lounge, Changing room(1, 2, 3) and Starter. The changing room is spacious and comfortable.
Fairway & Green maintenance
Close to perfect. Fairways are in good shape and greens rolled well.
Caddy Service & knowledge
Good and cheerful. Very informative and friendly.
Course Design
The course is built on a flat terrain. The interesting comes from the well place bunkers, water hazards, doglegs and a couple of semi island greens. Fairways considered to be fairly generous. Like most Nicklaus courses, greens are usually protected by huge bunkers. By the way, some of them are enormous which means if you land on the other side of the green, putting could be very nasty.

Long straight Par 4, got to have reasonably good driving distance. A deep large bunker guarded the right side green.

Straight Par 5, a large bunker in the middle of the fairway force you to choose your landing area either left or right. Fairway starts getting tight to the green.

Left dogleg, aviod left as there is a big tree block you off to the green.

Left dogleg, the green is elevated.

Dogleg right, the main issue is the green well secured by two large bunkers.

Dogleg left, the best direction is to aim over the left bunker， two greenside bunkers well guarded the green.

Dogleg right, short Par 5, a lake is hidden behind the trees (Right), two bunkers stands at the entrance of the green.

Dogleg right, The bunker on runs along the right side of fairway. A stream cuts acrossed the fairway and left the huge semi island green. Not surprise to see 3 putts if your ball lands miles away from the flag.

Long par 3, the worst pin position is the right. Water at the right and bunker on the left, plus strong head wind. Not easy though.

An interesting closing Par 5, dogleg right with an island green.

Straight and long Par 4, downslope teeshot might help a bit.

Slight dogleg right. The landing area could be tight if you teeshot is short. The elevated green is well guarded by bunkers.

Mid range whole carry Par 3, make sure you have enough club.

This 27 holes course made up by 3 nines holes Mountain, Lake and Valley course. The setup are more likely to be a resort course with reasonably forgiving fairways and recoverable rough. The maintenance is excellent. Scenery is also great with mature, dense big trees, you won’t find lamp post nor villas within your sight.
This Tree caught my attention and believed it has been worshipped by local people.
Unlike many other Thailand’s courses, speed of play in here is very impressive. Marshals are everywhere and prepare to “advise” slow players to keep the pace.

Springfield Beach Resort (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6) is where we stayed. Not luxury but good atmosphere and comfortable. Get a cab from the reception and it costs Baht 350 per way to or from downtown Huahin (around 20 mins). Or you may take a “taxi” on your journey. Noted that there ain’t meter taxi, negotiate the price pop in to the cab, Usaully between Baht200-250 per way. Some “taxi” can even take up to 8 persons.
Huahin City(1, 2, 3) isn’t that big and not even close to Pattaya or Phuket city. A peaceful land ideally for relaxing.
If you are looking for a better hotel to stay, you won’t be disappointed. Big names like Sofitel, Marriott, Hyatt, Dusit are scattered around the city.
