Introduction
My trip to Vietnam has taken me to 2 very nice golf courses Long Thanh, Vietnam Golf Club, and my last round in Ho Chi Minh is at Dong Nai Golf Resort which, at 50km away from the city centre, is the furthest away out of the 3. Due to heavy traffic, the journey took almost 2 hours.
Fairway & Green maintenance
The condition of the course is only fair, not too good & not too bad.
Caddy Service & knowledge
Ok, acceptable.
Course Design
The club has 27 holes as A , B & C –scorecard and I played the B & C course which measure 6,557 yards from the blue tee. You can immediately notice the peaceful & very quiet surrounding the moment you step on the first tee, ; huge & beautiful tress lined up either side of the fairway. While I was playing, I did not see any golfers on the course, so I had the whole course on my own…very nice indeed. Actually, this course is quite tough to play due to abundant amount of water hazards, tight & winding fairways. You have got to concentrate & play every shot very carefully to navigate your way through the course.

This opening hole is a downslope par 4.

The tee shot of this par 5 favours a fade but there is water on the right side all the way to the green, the approach also a carry over water.

A nice & long drive is needed to set up for an easier approach to the green.

An accurate shot is needed as water is right & the green is also well protected by bunkers.

Every shot must be precise here to navigate through the tight & twisting fairways.

A strong par 4, the tee shot is upslope but the approach is slighly downhill & need to carry a lake in front of the green.

This is a gentle godleg to the left, the teeshot is upslope but the approach will be downhill.

This is a long par 3, going uphill, the green slopes dramatically from back to front.

This finishing hole is uphill & to the right, the green is protected by bunkers all round.

The fairway of this opening hole swings to left & going down the slope, the approach, however, is going back up.

A fairly straight foward par 4.

A long & twisting par 5, be careful not to drive through the fairway on the tee shot, the approach to the green will need your best to miss all the troubles.

A nice looking but very dangerous downhill par 3.

An intimating hole, fairly tight landing area & the approach will need to carry a creek.

A tough par 4 going uphill.

A shorter par 3, water in front should not be in play.

A short but tough finishing par 4, tee shot is downhill but the landing area are filled with bunkers, the green is also heavily guarded by bunkers.
007’s Rating
The deco of the club is only so so, the restaurant、locker(1, 2) 、driving range and starter are all fairly basic.
As mentioned, this course is further away than the others and the conditioning of the course can be better. However, the surroundings are very nice and the layout of the course is interesting & challenging. If you have time, give it a try. .Birdie 9/07
