Introduction

Approximately 30 minutes drive from downtown, I arrived my last stop in Fuzhou – Amai Golf Club. The club planned to construct 27 holes with hotel and villas. Now that, 18 holes is already in used.

Club Facilities & Service

The temporily clubhouse, like other Fuzhou’s clubs, are small and simple (Infact, it is the clubhouse of the driving range), it is the best among all. Simple with reception, proshop, restaurant(1, 2), changing room(1, 2, 3) but well maintained and decorated. Cheerful services from reception. The new clubhouse is under construction and expect to be opened by the end of this year. It is huge though.

Fairway & Green maintenance

Fast recovery after drainage construction. Very good as a whole.

Caddy Service & knowledge

Very good knowledge and attitude

Course Design

The course is built on the foot of Qi mountain. Natural and open view for front nine while plenty of villas has been built on the back nine, like those city golf courses. In general, fairways are tight. Teeshots require some distance to carry over water. Bunkers are everywhere but shallow. There are long and short holes, dogleg holes, island green. Some fairways are divided by stream which means if you didn’t hit a decent drive or short, lay up is the best option. I can easily name a couple of nice holes : #11 the island green, 180 yards with wind blows, challenging , isn’t it? #5, tight landing area and require blind teeshot, it is just as cheerful as to sink a 30 feet putt after find the ball “alive” on the fairway. Green is a bit tricky and fast.

Green is soft with true rolling, very good!
Scenery is great on the front nine.Too many villas on the back nine. Somehow I felt like playing in Shenzhen Mission Hills : P Thanks to the good looking design of those villas and nice gardening, it is still more than acceptable.

These funny piggy drawn my attention. My caddie noticed and told me that because the course was opened at the year of Pig.

Afterall, this is certainly an interesting course to play.
