Introduction
Opened since 1986, the club located in between the new KL airport and downtown city. (around thirty minutes drive), the course was carved out from a piece of rubber and palm plantation. Saujana has long been rated No. 1 golf club in Malaysia. It consisted of two championship courses – Palm Course & Bunga Raya Course. Numerous international competitions were held in Palm course which makes it rated a bit ahead of Bunga Raya plus it used to be a member’s only course (now that they welcome visitors during weekdays).
Club Facilities & Service
Malay style big clubhouse with proshop, restaurant(food is good too), and an average visitor’s changing room. Staff’s services is good.
Fairway & Green maintenance
Excellent! The best I’ve played so far in Malaysia. Greens running nice and quick,。(DEC08)
Caddy Service & knowledge
Good. English speaking so no language barrier.
Course Design
Sited on a piece of rolling terrain, the front nine requires more carry over water, ravine. More water appears on back nine. In general, fairways are generous. The course mixed up with right dogleg, left dogleg, short and long, uphill and downhill holes. Bunkers are well positioned to penalise bad shots. very interesting setup. Blue tee measured more than 6,600 yards, for leisure golfers, not a bad idea pul back to the 6,100 yards white.

Palm Course
-
Short Par 4 dogleg right, fairway tilted to the right rough, approaching plays slightly upslope.
-
Long par 3 with huge green
-
Tight entrance (visual effect), the landing area is widely open indeed. All the way downslope. Lie could be nasty
-
Downslope dogleg left short par 4, tempting for one on?
-
Stay away from the bunker on the left, deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep!
-
Upslope teeshot, then go downwards for the approaching
-
Again upslope teeshot, then all the way downhill
-
Dogeleg left, trouble on both left and right. Green is elevated.
-
Upslope dogleg right, teeshot aim left for a better attack angle
-
The fairway runs slightly downslope to the left.
-
Dogleg right, not much hazard, scoring hole
-
Long Par 3 and well guarded green
-
Downhill Par 5, the green is on the right and guarded by water
-
Long Par 4, tight landing area
-
Downhill straight Par 4, need whole carry for approaching.
-
Uphill Par 3 with bunkers guarded infront of the green .
-
Nice hole, severly downslope, left turn to the green
-
Dogleg right, wide fairway with not much trouble, elevated green
007’s Rating
Fabulous! everything a good course should be can be found here. The course itself is interesting to play.
The buggy is only allowed on cart path but they are equipped with GPS, not 100% accurate but helpful to certain extend.
With a history of 20 years, the course itself is pretty much mature. The only thing is, due to close to downtown, you may see buildings around, and some expensive like villas inside the course.
Mind you, unlike course in Melaka, the length is measured in yardage here.
I was scheduled to play another course Bunga Raya Course in the afternoon, quite disappointed, , the front desk didn’t notice that the course was closed for a competition. (I could have played Bunga Raya in the morning)
Anyway, Palm course is definitely a course that I’ll love to return. Ace 12/08
During my trip in KL, I stayed at Sunway Hotel & Spa to stay away from the downtown heavy traffic.(The hotel is 30 minutes away from both Airport & downtown, 20 minutes from Saujana). The hotel is still in good shape(rated five stars), rooms(1, 2) had been renovated recently. You can also bring your family with you since there are Water Park(1, 2) & Theme Park right next to the hotel. A mega shopping mall(1, 2, 3, 4, 5) is also connected to the hotel where you may spend a whole day for shopping. Wide range of food can be found here too, e.g. Vietnamese, Italian, Chinese, Japanese, Western food, Fridays, KFC, Starbucks…. plus a pub street too.
A four stars Pyramid Tower Hotel (Also managed by Sunway group) is also available.
