Introduction
The golf course is near the city center of Melaka, about 35 minutes from where I stayed during the holiday A’famosa Golf Resort, so I decided to give it a try.
Club Facilities & Service
Quite a big club with swimming pool, cafe and proshop etc, the service is similar to A’famosa equally slow.
Fairway & Green maintenance
Excellent! Especially the greens.
Caddy Service & knowledge
The have caddie service but did not use it.
Course Design
It is designed by Neil Haworth who utilized the lay of the natural forest with mature trees along the fairways, most holes are quite challenging and some are intimidating with water hazards, it is a touch more tougher course than Afamosa. The Lake course #9 par 5 , Woodland # 3 par 4, Meadow #9 Par 4 are very nice and will give you a good test of golf. Water appears on the more gentle lake course quite frequently. Some teeshots at Woodland and Meadow course require long carry.

Lake Course
-
The opening hole is a simple uphill short par 4 for you to warm up.
-
There is this hugh tree on the right side of the fairway, slighly downslope, a very nice hole.
-
A tough par 3, you need to fly it high to land on the green as the surrrounding is 15 feet below the putting surface.
-
Watch out for the fairway bunker on the right side on your tee shot, water is on the left so be careful where to lay up.
-
A nice driving hole, fairway is quite generous.
-
Another nice driving hole, fairway is very generous.
-
Need to fly it all the way to the green, the green is long & narrow.
-
A tough hole, water is in front & on the right side all the way to the green, a good drive is a must.
-
A beautiful but tough hole, tee shot is downhill and need to carry at least 170 yards(more if you are on the right side) to clear the water, the 2nd is diificult too as the fairway narrows down.
-
This is a slight dogleg to the left, the approach is gently upslope.
-
A medium length par 3, need to fly the ball all the way.
-
This is an interesting hole, need to fly the ball to an opening (blue arrow) so that you can take the approach across water. Good and accurate shots are needed here.
-
Quite an intimating hole not just long but also with big trees on both sides of the fairway.
-
Another tough hole with fairway bunkers on the left & a hugh tree in the middle, the green is slightly elevated & protected by bunkers.
-
A long hole and going upslope.
-
The landing area of the tee shot is quite generous but the approach will be lot tighter.
-
Sorry the photo came out horrible ….so just a hole description instead 🙂
-
The tee shot needs to go through the 2 tress, it is downhill with water on the left, nice hole.
-
Straight and well placed bunkers hole
-
Straight , upslope par 4, carry 180 yards to carry water on left and 200 yards on right.
-
Dogleg right, bunkers splited fiarway into two.
-
Downslope Mid range par 3
-
Dogleg left, tight entrance, indeed, the fairway is much wider than you see
-
Long Par 3
-
Downslope dogleg left, green on the left side which is guarded by water in front.
-
Beautiful hole !slightly downslope teeshot.
-
Another beautiful hole!dogleg right, water runs along rightside to green
007’s Rating
Came here for a casual round as it is nearby where I stayed, did not expect much but I was pleasantly surprised the quality of design, condition and scenic surrounding, the course is a bit tougher than Afamosa due to more water & tighter fairways . Blue Tee is above 6,600 yards so if you are looking for more comfortable, not a bad idea move back to White. The Championship course combination is Woodland & Meadow course.
All in all it is well worth a visit .
